International, regional tournaments on hold due to pandemic; local players look to 2020 China Open for new challenge

Posted: Wednesday, 9 Dec 2020

Yue Yin Ho and Kevin Wu Sho Wai will participate in the VOLVO China Open to be held from 10th to 13th December in Shenzhen. VOLVO China Open is China’s leading professional golf tournament and this is the first time that Hong Kong players have been offered wild cards to compete for the highly coveted championship. Yue Yin Ho and Kevin Wu Sho Wai, originally based in the US, have moved to the Mainland, where many highly competitive tournaments are being restarted. Sending Hong Kong players to the National Golf Championships in China is part of the HKGA’s on-going efforts to help players stay in form during the pandemic, which has put international and regional golf tournaments on hold. The HKGA will continue to identify more competitions for top local golfers and provide the support players need to hone their skills.
